Meet the team: Ingvild Sørlie
How long have you been working at Ivaldi? How did it all start?
I just joined Ivaldi in September 2021 and I am very excited to start working for the company. I was introduced to Ivaldi through their CCO Gro Dyrnes. We used to work together at Innovation Norway when I was an intern at the San Francisco office. She reached out to me just when my job at the Slagentangen ExxonMobil refinery in Norway was coming to an end. The timing was almost too good to be true and I just had to jump on the opportunity to join the Ivaldi team.
What is your expertise/ role?
I have worked for almost 4 years in the oil and gas industry as a technical and logistics engineer. Prior to that I have had experience from the university sector and supporting startups in their business development as a part of my work for Innovation Norway.
My role at Ivaldi is managing projects in Norway by supporting customers through their entire process with us, helping businesses understand the potential cost-saving, emissions cuts, and local job creation Ivaldi can bring them. I am working to find new opportunities for Ivaldi in the Nordic region as Key Account Manager for Norway.
What’s your favorite part about working at the company?
Being able to make a difference and better the world. Working for Ivaldi is work with a purpose. I also look forward to getting to know all the people who work at Ivaldi, it seems like a great community.
What are the company’s values you stand for?
Problem-solving – As an engineer, I love to see any problems that arise as an opportunity to improve and change for the better. Rather than waiting for changes and problems to find you, I believe we should go out and find new solutions to tomorrow’s problems and constantly challenge assumptions.
Commitment – I feel great responsibility for my work to be done with integrity and I see it as integral to any company to build up trust with customers and investors based both on quality of work and values.
How do you spend your time outside of work? What do you enjoy doing?
I love to stay active by going on hikes, indoor rock climbing and I love all sorts of sports. I also have a great passion for sewing my own clothes. It’s my way of combining being creative with my engineering skills and I can forget all about time and the world around me when I start making a new dress.
What makes Ivaldi unique?
The people make Ivaldi unique. Everyone has made me feel so welcome and although we work remotely and from separate corners of the world, I feel like I was an important part of the team from day one.
